Can you believe that we are already in the 10th week of the high school football season?

That means that the first week of December is right around the corner – and it signals that the playoffs are two weeks away.

This week’s impressive slate of games, highlighting some of the elite prospects and teams, but also athletes who figure to turn heads with the way they play.

While the clock is really ticking for the Class of 2019, it is also important that the juniors (2020), sophomores (2021) and even this current group of freshman (2022) turn heads, now!

The youngsters can use these coming weeks just as much as the veterans. The only difference is that the current seniors have little time – while the underclassmen can ensure that they won’t have to scramble over the next few years.

As we do every week during the course of a year, we reserve this day to spotlight three prospects who have been noticed, and have received attention, but deserve to be in the spotlight on 3 For Thursday.

2020 – Dante De Rosa, LB/LS, Miami Gulliver Prep. Every year, there are quality athletes who are overlooked here in south Florida. Because of the level of talent, very productive prospects are pushed to the side.

A one-time young prospect who started at Miami Killian has truly made a major impact for the Raiders during his junior season.

Dante’s numbers are among the best in the state, averaging 4 tackles for loss in each game. Has quickness, athleticism and does very well in the classroom.

One of the underclass standouts who needs the attention, now!

2019 – Kadin Katsch, WR/Slot, Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest. When it comes to getting the job done, there are very few who have the passion that this quality senior has.

One of the prospects who took this sport year round, competing against some of the elite players in south Florida – and beyond, elevating his game and his ability to run pass patterns.

An all-purpose prospect who has the speed, strength and a work ethic that is hard to find. His passion for the game makes him fun to watch, believing that he has a chance to catch the ball every time it’s thrown.

While he has over 700 yards on offense, Kadin also long snaps, has six tackles for loss and three sacks on defense. Has a few offers, but is hoping that more will come his way.

2021 – Laurence Seymore, OL, Miami Central. Before he ever played a game for the Rockets, this young man was a legend who had sold so many.

Thought to be the next in a long line of superior offensive linemen, this impressive young University of Miami commitment is truly someone who has not disappointed.

Although injured a year ago, his hard work and dedication has shown this year during a tremendous season for one of the best teams in the country.

Watch him perform and you are immediately sold by his explosion, knowledge and athleticism. Like those before him, Laurence has had the opportunity to watch and learn from senior Maurice Smith, who is headed to Boston College.

Big time football player for the prospect the call “Big Baby!”
