When it comes to the post season, nobody ceases the moment more than south Florida athletes.

On the football field, the competitive juices flow 12 months a year, and it is all designed to enhance the exposure that these impressive football players work hard for.

No matter if it’s a camp, combine or college event, every trip is an opportunity to get better – and in this day of competition at every turn, this is where it starts to sink in.

With several area programs advancing to the second round, it is an opportunity for the seniors to continue to turn heads – while underclassmen use this valuable exposure to set the table.

The next few months, with two National Signing Days on the horizon, will be a hectic time as colleges search for those student/athletes who can make an impact in their program.

With the competition getting tougher in each round, the talent also gets better. As we do each and every week throughout the year, we bring you three prospects who have been a key part of the playoffs:

2019 – Najeh Baker, WR, Homestead South Dade. After watching this impressive talent two years ago, his maturity and work ethic have been very impressive.

This is one of those gifted football players who continues to make plays – and going against a tough secondary every day in practice has only made him a better overall prospect.

In the playoffs, he came up huge during the first week in a win over Hialeah – something that he has been doing the past few years.

2019 – Nico Casares, QB/FS, Miami Palmer Trinity. Here is someone we talked about last year – and then followed him throughout the off season. One of the true under-the-radar players here in south Florida, he continues to elevate his game.

Has all the tools on the football field – as well as getting it done in the classroom. Has received some offers, but after college coaches watch him throw the ball and lead his team, they will see what everyone else has been talking about.

Threw for 1,726 yards, 20 touchdowns – guiding his program to the playoffs and an opening round win last week against Westminster Christian. His Quraterback Rating is 138.4.

2019 – Brandon Moses, LB, Deerfield Beach. On a team loaded with talent and prospects, here is someone who has enjoyed a very productive senior season – showcasing his skills in the opening round against Miramar.

What this hard hitting and athletic linebacker adds to this defense is a quality football player who competes at a high level – and does it with plenty of passion.

With the playoffs under way, watch Brandon do his thing – as the stakes continue to rise each week.
