SCOUTING: If you watch football in south Florida, there are so many quality athletes that are often overlooked.

As college coaches have their own idea of talent and evaluating, there is simply no mistaking the fact that when it comes to producing football talent, very few regions of the country come close to what we produce.

One of the prime examples of football prospects who have been taken for granted is Eddie Williams. There is no getting around the fact that he has made more significant plays for the defending district champion Panthers than any other defensive players in Miami-Dade or Broward - against the highest level of competition.

This is a football player that makes you better. He is just not a stats machine. What Williams represents as a prospects and as a leader is something that very few coaches get a chance to see in a three year period.

Head coach Mike Manasco has been talking about his ability to compete against anyone and make the plays since his 10th grade season.

“I challenge you to watch his film and tell me that this is not one of the premier defensive prospects you have watched,” Manasco said. “Any  big game we have, No. 11 is right there making the play.”

It’s already a given that he will make any all-star team locally. It’s time for anyone who follows to game to vote him as all-state. After all, he has the numbers and the backing of teammates, coaches and the opponents.

With schools such as Marshall, Buffalo, Cincinnati and FAU in the mix, there is no doubt that some school will get an impact player.
