While we are still many months from the end of August and the beginning of September, football fans of South Florida are starting to make their plans now.

From August 31-September 2, 12 of the top nationally rated teams will be in action as Airo Nation and Spire Sports & Entertainment will host the inaugural Freedom Bowl – an invitation-only high school football showcase featuring 12 highly acclaimed teams, slated to be played Labor Day Weekend at Milton High School in Milton, Ga.

With Coach Willis May and his Parkland Douglas Eagles making the way up to Georgia, it will certainly get this 2018 season off to a great start.

Add in head coach Matt Dubuc and his promising Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs and things get even better.

Florida raises the bar with defending 3A state champion Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna and the two-time defending state champion American Heritage, riding a 27-game winning streak, participating in the weekend.

“We now know the teams – and soon the matchups,” Menard explained. “We are sure that all the games will be entertaining and competitive.”

The Freedom Bowl brings together a dozen high profile programs from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey and Canada to compete in six games over three days in the heart of Atlanta’s championship-laden high school football powerhouses.

“The Freedom Bowl brings top level high school football to one location and provides much more than just football competition,” said David Menard, Founder and President of Airo Nation. “Utilizing this amazing platform will also inspire and educate our youth about what the men and women of our armed forces sacrifice to protect our freedom.”

Coaches and athletes will be afforded the opportunity to visit with former and current members of the U.S. Military who either currently serve or have served in leadership roles. Meanwhile, participants will have the chance to interact with both active and former service members who have been wounded while serving America in harm’s way.

The Milton High School football program is coming off one of its most successful seasons in recent history, rapidly cementing the program as one of the major contenders in Georgia’s highest classification each year. Much of that success can be attributed to the culture and direction of the team, led by head coach Adam Clack, who joined the team in 2017. Clack set a clear expectation that Milton Football would center on the principle of building men of integrity.

The inaugural event encompasses over 800 players and two hundred coaches to promote high school football and player development. The Freedom Bowl educates student athletes, coaches, their families and fans on true heroism and to support those who serve and protect our nation.

In addition to the South Florida programs, Daytona Beach Mainland, Apopka Wekiva, Saint Joseph Regional of New Jersey, Muscle Shoals, Ala., Bob Jones of Madison, Ala. and Saint Mathews Catholic of Canada.
