Business is picking up in the National Football League with the scouting combine, free agency, and draft approaching.

On Tuesday evening, the Miami Dolphins put the non-exclusive franchise tag on leading receiver Jarvis Landry. This allows Landry to sign a 1-year deal with the Phins for just over $16 Million.

But the tag doesn't prevent the Dolphins from trading him.

Joe Rose and Zach Krantz discussed Landry's future Wednesday Morning on 560 WQAM.

"The old trade could still take place," said Rose. "Teams who were interested in him as a free agent could still be interested now, but not give up two first round picks."

Heavy interest in Landry has been rumored from the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens. You'll hear Dolphins fans get into heated arguments about exactly how many millions he's actually worth, but that doesn't mean he isn't beloved by the team's supporters.

"This is a confident dude who leads his team out there through good and bad," said Rose of Landry. "He's by far, to me, the most popular player on the team. I don't think it's close."

The Dolphins still have until July 15th to work out a long term deal with Landry. If no deal is reached, he'll play out the one season under the tag for $16.2 million with Miami, if he isn't traded first.

Rose expects the Dolphins could get trade offers for a 2nd round pick in exchange for Landry, adding, "I don't see it being a (first round pick). I don't see anybody giving up that much."
