PLAYER: Marcus Fleming

SCHOOL: Miami Southridge

CLASS: 2020

HEIGHT: 5-11

SCOUTING: While this impressive football prospects caught 22 balls for 692 yards and 8 TDs as a sophomore at Miami High last season, here is someone who immediately jumped onto the national recruiting radar.

One of the emerging stars had given the Stingarees a shot in the arm – with huge plays that put this team within a few minutes of heading back to state for the first time in 54 years – back during a time when this school dominated the landscape of football in South Florida and throughout the state.

While things change – so did the direction that this quality football talent was moving in. Instead of Miami High, he made a short move to Miami Northwestern before settling in with the Spartans – just two years removed from a state championship.

What Fleming has done in the offseason is to establish himself as one of the elite junior in the country. Whether it be at an showcase combine or during the 7-on-7 season, where he played for the national champion South Florida Express.

His recent commitment to attend the University of Miami only illustrated where the Hurricanes are in the recruiting process, having landed Southridge elite pass catcher Mark Pope, and then getting a commitment from a player that many are thinking could be the next Pope.

Fleming committed to Miami over schools such as Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Nebraska, and many more.
