Throughout the course of a year there are so many events geared toward skilled players that leave other positions out.

With many linemen – on both sides of the ball – now being among the highest players taken in the NFL Draft, the emphasis is now on more development with the BIG MEN.

Like the quarterback position, the state of Florida, as a whole, has not been the breeding ground for a rush of linemen – on either side of the ball. But before you start naming names and disputing, understand that it has been that way for a long time, and with more camps and events devoted to the linemen, things are changing.

With exposure always a huge advantage, Elite Scouting Services will step to the plate with something that has not been done before. The Big Man Camp invites all offensive and defensive linemen to come and learn.

With two camps taking place – it will give all of south Florida an opportunity to get their linemen exposure that will be watched by college coaches across the country.

“Everyone does line camps and teaches great technique, which is fine,” said Charles Fishbein, President of Elite Scouting Services. “But what we are doing is having that coaching - as well as video and exposure on each and every athlete that takes part.”

On Monday, July 16, University School, next to the Miami Dolphins Camp, will host the first session – with Miami-Dade and Broward linemen having the chance to get plenty of exposure and video footage.

“This is a dead period for colleges,” Fishbein explained. “The exposure that we will provide is something that will enhance them during this time. We have people who will write about what they see and put out for everyone to read. This is something that every lineman needs to attend.”

Session 1 at Autonation Field (3375 SW 75th Avenue, Davie, FL. 33314) is from 9 a.m – 11:30 a.m. Session 2 will spotlight the linemen between 1 and 3:30.

The following day, Keiser University in West Palm Beach will host an event that will attract northern Broward as well as the entire Palm Beach area and into the Treasure Coast, which always lacks the exposure.

Session 1 at Keiser University (2600 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL. 33409) is from 9 a.m – 11:30 a.m. Session 2 will spotlight the linemen between 1 and 3:30.

“Every year, I say that we should run a line camp, but this year we got it all together and have things in place to have a real productive two days

The cost for pre-registration for BIG MAN CAMP IS $30.00 for one session - $50.00 for two sessions.

If you pay.the day of the event, the cost is $40. and $60 for the second session.

“Make sure to pre-register if you are a coach that wants to bring a group of 5-9 or 10 or more,” Fishbein explained. “We want to see as many teams come as possible. When colleges ask me about players after National Signing Day, it is more than not going to be linemen. That’s why I think something like this becomes essential. Also, the athletes coming need to bring their helmet and shoulder pads to compete.”
