PLAYER: Maurice Underwood

POSITION: QB

SCHOOL: Miami Central

CLASS: 2019

HEIGHT: 6-3

WEIGHT: 180

SCOUTING: Over the past five years, south Florida has had the chance to watch this young man develop - and heading into his final season - here is someone who can change the fortunes of the Rockets back again.

With a solid running game, quality offensive lineman and receivers who are ready to step up, Underwood will have a chance - with one of the most competitive schedules around - to make a huge statement.

Getting the season off to a big start on Thursday night in a convincing win over defending 8A state runner-up Delray Atlantic, he showed the talent that made him a youth football phenom - before competing for 2A Hialeah Champagnat Catholic as a freshman and being at the center of the this Miami Central program, heading into 2018.

This Marshall University commitment solidified his standing with a solid spring and the confidence from veteran head coach Roland Smith and this football team.

If the Rockets are to make it back to Orlando after three years away from the state championships, this is going to be the offensive leader that this team will need.
