If you are a football fan in south Florida, you have circled this week.

With two weeks left in the 2018 season, there are many districts and playoff spots that are still open.

With important regional seeding at stake, this is the time where those programs with high expectations attempt to fulfill those goals that were set nearly a year ago.

For others, it could mean the end of a dream that was set during the productive off season.

Once again, look for this region of the country to take center stage – with elite athletes and superb coaching.

There is no getting around the fact that there will be some quality games:

Southwest Miami at Belen Jesuit, Friday, 3:30: District title, high seeding and a home game for the first round of the playoffs when these two district rivals square off.

Dillard at Boynton Beach, Friday, 7. First year head coach Toriano Morgan and his Panthers can wrap up the district title, a high seed and a first round playoff home game with a win against Derrick Crudup’s Palm Beach program.

No. 15 Western at Miramar, Friday, 7. Last year, the Patriots narrowly won in Davie, but this important district game will take place in Miramar – and as they Wildcats look to win the district title outright, the Patriots plan to make this a three-way tie – along with Plantation, who beat the Patriots, but lost to Western.

Coral Gables at No. 4 Christopher Columbus (Tropical Park), Friday, 7:30. The last hurdle the Explorers and head coach Chris Merritt have in capturing another district title. The Cavaliers are starting to rebuild, and while this is just the beginning, keep an eye on Coach Pollard and this program.

No. 1 Carol City at No. 2 Central (Traz Powell Stadium), Friday, 7:30. It is without hesitation the best matchup of the night – anywhere in the country. If you have watched either of these teams play, you already know that no matter what the national writers say, both are as good as you get and will 100 percent turnout more football prospects that anywhere in the country – and the numbers are NOT close. Elite football at its very finest!

North Miami at No. 15 Hialeah (Hendricks), Friday, 7:30. This is one of those games that will determine everything – and with the success of the Thoroughbreds this season, the Pioneers will have their hands full with a young, solid team.

No. 9 South Dade at No. 10 Southridge, Friday, 7:30. A win for the Spartans and they will capture the district title and earn that high playoff seeding. A South Dade victory and we will have a three-way tie with Palmetto. Should be another classic game.
