Ben Volin of the Boston Globe created quite a stir among Dolphins fans with a report that team owner Stephen Ross was not initially on board with his front office drafting Minkah Fitzpatrick at 11th overall.

According to Volin:

A well-placed league source tells us that the Dolphins had the pick of Alabama safety Minkah Fitzpatrick all ready to go at No. 11 when owner Stephen Ross stepped in and implored his team to trade back, both to acquire more picks and to save money on the first-rounder. Ross’s football people talked him out of it, and the Dolphins went ahead with the Fitzpatrick pick.

The report seems out of character for Stephen Ross, who has spared no expense in his decade-long tenure as owner of the Miami Dolphins.

On Tuesday, Orlando "The Big O" Alzugaray reacted.

“That’s the dumbest story I’ve ever seen," said Big O. "Anyone who would call Stephen Ross cheap is ridiculous. You want to tell me Stephen Ross doesn’t know football? Im good with that. You want to tell me Stephen Ross doesn’t know who to hire? Im good with that. Now, you want to tell me Stephen Ross is cheap? C’mon.”
