It's among the worst-kept secrets in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins have their new head coach. They've chosen New England Patriots defensive play-caller and linebackers coach Brian Flores.

It's not official yet, because the Dolphins cannot announce Flores until New England's playoff run is over. That moment could come as early as Monday, if the Pats fall to the Chiefs in the AFC Title game. Or, it would have to wait two extra weeks, if New England returns to the Super Bowl.

Flores has worked his way up Bill Belichick's coaching staff since 2004.

Even though Flores can't officially take the reigns yet in Miami, he's already building his coaching staff.

Jim Caldwell will be an excellent addition to Flores' staff. As a first time head coach, Flores can get valuable advice from someone who's seen just about everythin during his career. Caldwell can be a great consigliere.
