Hurricanes To Create 'Touchdown Chain'

In 2017, the Miami Hurricanes 'turnover chain' became an instant sensation.

In 2018, the tradition continued, with a new look.

In 2019, the turnover chain won't be alone.

The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson passed along this scoop prior to Miami's spring game.

"We would love to have a touchdown chain,” Diaz added.

Personally, I'm skeptical. The turnover chain was organic and original. It didn't feel forced or overly-contrived. The idea of adding a prop for the offense feels reductive and ... well... a bit tacky.

I hope I'm wrong about this. Manny Diaz is the guy who created the turnover chain the first place, so perhaps I should not doubt him. If the touchdown prop is unique and captures the spirit of Miami football, maybe Diaz can pull this off.

What sort of chain or prop would you like to see for the Miami offense?
