Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts officially entered the NCAA transfer portal on Wednesday. Suitors are lining up for the man with a 26-2 record with the Crimson Tide.

According to reports, Manny Diaz and the Miami Hurricanes are among those vying for his services. Inside The U's Andrew Ivins posted this scoop on Wednesday night.

InsideTheU has learned through multiple sources that the Hurricanes and new head coach Manny Diaz reached out to the Alabama quarterback on Wednesday after word spread that the Texas native had entered the NCAA's transfer portal.

Hurts, who was named SEC Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman, has gone 26-2 as Nick Saban's starting quarterback, but spent this past season backing up Tua Tagovailoa in Tuscaloosa.

Diaz has stated a number of times since he has took over for Mark Richt in Coral Gables that he is more than open to bringing in a graduate transfer quarterback to compete with N'Kosi Perry, Jarren Williams and Cade Weldon this offseason as he looks to fix Miami's offense.

And here's something that should put Canes fans on high alert: Since news of his transfer request surfaced, Hurts has followed three people on Twitter - Hurricanes head coach Manny Diaz, Miami running back Deejay Dallas, and Miami tight end Brevin Jordan.

Miami will have plenty of competition, but landing Hurts would be a big boost to their offense for 2019.
