Hurricanes Land 2019 QB Commit

Quarterback depth has been an issue for the Miami Hurricanes. After early national signing day in December, the Canes didn't have a single commitment at that position for 2019. 

That changed over the weekend, with 3-star prospect Peyton Matocha announcing his decision. 

Miami was the only Power 5 school to offer Matocha a scholarship. While this could be a sign that he isn't destined for greatness, it could also be a symptom of Matocha being a late bloomer. He really blew up in his senior season and other late offers might have come in. 

Matocha's arrival offers Miami's newly-hired OC and quarterbacks coach Dan Enos the opportunity to develop a prospect from the ground up. Matocha enters a quarterback room that already features redshirt freshman Jarren Williams, redshirt sophomores N'Kosi Perry and Cade Weldon, and transfer sophomore Tate Martell. Martell is applying for a waiver to play immediately, but may have to sit out the 2019 season.
