NBA All Star Jimmy Butler still wants to be traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the Miami Heat believed to be one of his preferred destinations.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Heat were believed to be close to a deal, until talks fell apart over the weekend. The sides were prepared to finalize, until Minnesota pushed for more in return.

Exactly how much more was Minnesota looking for? The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson relayed the answer to this question according to a Heat source: "The first born of all our kids."

That sounds like a steep demand...

On Wednesday, Butler made the surprise move of participating in a Timberwolves practice. Intitially, this was seen as a sign that he might be prepared to repare his relationship with Minnesota. Wrong.

Wojnarowski offered the detailes on Twitter:

"All my emotions came out at one time," Butler told ESPN's Rachel Nichols. On his relationship with the Timberwolves, Butler said: "It's not fixed. It could be, but do I think so? No."

A rumored possibility to bring Butler to Miami would include the Heat sending Josh Richardson, Bam Adebayo, and a protected first round pick to Minnesota. If true, this was apparently not enough for the Timberwolves over the weekend. Perhaps the growing tensions between Butler and the Wolves will motivate Minnesota to reopen talks.
