Miami Dolphins Staff Continues Taking Shape
Although the Miami Dolphins cannot announce Brian Flores as their head coach until after the Super Bowl, it hasn't stopped him from working behind the scenes to assemble a staff. Patrick Graham and Chad O'Shea are in as his defensive and offensive coordinator, and this week, other hires have been reported.
Joe Schad from the Palm Beach Post noted other expected hires by the aqua and orange.
Other assistants expected to land in Miami include: special teams coach Danny Crossman, tight ends coach George Godsey and wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell (via ESPN), offensive line coach Pat Flaherty (via Sirius XM), offensive assistant Jim Caldwell, linebacker coach Robbie Leonard and defensive line coach Marion Hobby (via NFL Network).
The Dolphins are also expected to retain running backs coach Eric Studesville and defensive backs coach Tony Oden, according to a league source.
Meanwhile, long-time special teams coordinator and associate head coach Darren Rizzi is moving on. He'd been on the Dolphins staff since 2009, but reportedly was not wanted by Flores, and preferred pursuing a change of scenery after being denied a shot to become Miami's head coach.
In addition to coaching positions being filled, the front office is also filling out under GM Chris Grier:
