Any time the University of Miami is about to make a splash in recruiting or the transfer portal, head football coach Manny Diaz drops a hurricane warning on Twitter:

The next day, news broke. Miami landed a 4-star quarterback for the Class of 2020.

As you can see below, Van Dyke has plenty of talent.

Recruting expert Larry Blustein has followed Van Dyke, and offered me this scouting report:

"A pro style quarterback with a solid arm. A lot of schools like the fact that he has a real quick release and is extremely good at looking off one and two receivers. I know Pittsburgh, Cal and Boston College love him because he has the chance to be special. He's a tough kid from the Northeast who makes a lot of above average throws."

Van Dyke will play his senior (high school) season at Suffield Academy in Connecticut, and then barring a change in commitment, will arrive in South Florida in spring or summer of 2020.
