Opening Day is upon us.

After a 15-13 spring training campaign, it's time for the Miami Marlins to start playing the games that count.

The Fish are set to open up their season Thursday afternoon at a new-look Marlins Park.

The Marlins start their season by welcoming in the Colorado Rockies. Miami will send Jose Urena to the hill. Colorado will counter with Kyle Freeland.

Opening day marks the start of year two under the Derek Jeter-led rebuild. The Marlins won just 63 games in year one.

The team will hopefully show improvement on the field. Off the field, improvement is certain for the ball park experience.

The Miami Herald's Jordan McPherson has more on what to expect.

“I said at the end of last year that when people walk into this park for the first time, we want them to realize that it’s a completely different park,” Jeter, the Marlins’ CEO, said. “We want people here to come to Marlins Park and say, ‘You know what? The new ownership group said they were going to make some changes and they have made some changes.’ ”

There are the new food partnerships that line the Promenade Level, including Miami’s Best Pizza, PINCHO, Novecento, SuViche, Butterfly Tacos y Tortas, and La Pepa. Other concession options have been given ballpark-themed names such as Fowl Pole, Top Dog and The Change Up. There’s also a grab-and-go market called El Mercadito that includes wraps, salads, fruit and gluten-free items.

First pitch for Marlins-Rockies on opening day (Thursday, March 28th) is set for 4:10pm from Marlins Park.
