Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick joined The Joe Rose Show on Wednesday morning to discuss how he will fit within the Miami Dolphins' defense.

Miami's eleventh overall draft pick made it clear that he can thrive in the defensive backfield no matter what position he plays.

“I just like making plays, that’s it," said Fitzpatrick. "It’s doesn’t really matter where you put me. They can put me in the slot, they can put me on the x-receiver, it doesn’t matter. I just like making plays.”

His versatility will be key. Miami now has three very capable safeties in Reshad Jones, TJ McDonald, and Fitzpatrick. Minkah's ability to play the role of 'Swiss army knife' will give defensive coordinator Matt Burke opportunity to use all three of them on the field at once.

Fitzpatrick's football IQ was sharpened by Nick Saban, who he played for at Alabama.

"He’s real thorough with everything," said Fitzpatrick of Saban, "whether its offense, defense or special teams. He’s out there coaching everyone the same way, not letting anyone take off any plays. I appreciate him for doing it, he’s helped me become who I am today.”
