The Miami Heat improved to 2 - 0 on their current 4-game road trip with a 110 - 105 victory over the San Antonio Spurs tonight.

Once again the bench mob provided the needed lift for the Heat (35-36) ending the Spurs nine-game winning streak coming into the game. Goran Dragic finished with 22 points, 20 of which came in the first half and Dwyane Wade added 11 including a pivotal left-handed bank shot with 1:23 left in the game to put the Heat up 108 - 103.

Wade’s last dance in San Antonio fittingly finished with a Wade game clinching steal as Miami finished off the regular season sweep of the Spurs for just the third time in franchise history. The last time the Heat completed the regular season sweep of the Spurs was in 2013, when Miami would later go on to beat San Antonio in the NBA finals.

Dion Waiters scored 18 points in 32 minutes leading the starters in scoring. Josh Richardson had a nice bounce back performance with 15 points after shooting 5 of 31 from the field in his previous two games. And starting center Bam Adebayo added just 6 points but had 15 rebounds and a team high 5 assists.

With Miami’s fourth ever road regular season victory in San Antonio, the Heat jumped to a game and a half lead over Orlando for the No. 8 seed and now just one game back of Brooklyn for the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Heat will look to continue their strong play in March having posted an 8 - 2 record thus far. Up next for Miami, a potential first round preview as they continue their four game road trip in Milwaukee on Friday night to face the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. After, they finish off their road trip in Washington on Saturday.
