Are the Miami Hurricanes back?

It’s a question that has been asked every year for the better part of two decades now in South Florida. But in two weeks, Manny Diaz and the Canes will have a chance to claim they’ve officially climbed back into the best programs in College Football.

If Miami can take care of Florida State this Saturday (they are heavy favorites) the team will be undefeated at 3-0 heading into a battle against the #1 overall seed: Clemson.

ESPN college football analyst Desmond Howard told Hoch and Crowder today he thinks Miami can compete with Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.

“When you have these teams that are kinda young but have veteran leadership, they have grad transfers and guys that play with a chip on their shoulders and they know that this is an opportunity now to cement their legacy by knocking off a Clemson team … it just motivates these guys and I think you’ll get their A game.”

The Heisman trophy winner is in South Florida as College Game Day broadcasts live from Hard Rock Stadium tomorrow for the UM vs FSU game. A limited number of fans will be allowed in the stadium but FSU’s Head Coach Mike Norvell won’t be on the sidelines after he disclosed publicly he tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Howard was asked by Channing Crowder if he thought winning a championship this season was harder or easier as teams battle the Covid-19 pandemic. For his answer and more from Howard, listen to the full interview here:
