PLAYER: Isaiah Velez

SCHOOL: Miami Northwestern

CLASS: 2019

SCOUTING: While Northwestern has gone through a tough season in 2018, there are two things that drive the Bulls.

First of all, they are still defending 6A state champions. Secondly, after a convincing first round win at Daytona Beach Mainland, they are still very much alive in the playoffs.

With a 6-5 record, this is a team that battled hard, using a number of first year football prospects to get the job done. One of those talented players was this quality quarterback who has never truly received the accolades he deserves.

He has directed a Bulls’ offense that has not been at full strength, but still managed to put up huge numbers - like he did last week on the road.

Heading into tonight’s playoff game at Palm Bay Heritage, he remains a solid balance for this program -  and has more than proven that he can play at the next level.

It’s not the first time that prospects in south Florida have been overlooked - and it won’t be the last, but some school has to think out of the box with someone who can make things happen.
