PLAYER: Elias Morales

SCHOOL: Miami Christopher Columbus

CLASS: 2019

SCOUTING: When it comes to this football program over the past few years, it never fails that head coach Chris Merritt finds a way to get under-the-radar players to elevate their game.

Getting ready for Saturday night’s 8A state championship game against Jacksonville Mandarin, it’s been the play of emerging prospects like Morales to come up with big plays.

This is one of many athletes who have brought their game to another level – and that is why the Explorers head into the final game of the game of the year unbeaten.

Whether it’s stopping the run, recovering a fumble – or picking off a pass, Morales is that kind of athlete who continues to what’s necessary to win football games and get this team a first ever state title.
