While many understand what the national combines are all about – there are those who use those events as a springboard.

Handing out star ratings for athletes is truly subjective at best. If you are judging a football prospect on how fast they run or how high they jump, you are going to miss hundreds of quality football players.

It’s proven every year that many of those quality prospects who aren’t invited to those national events – or are added at the end as a favor to someone – actually are the players that end up making an impact.

No matter what year it is, many of those national companies who pick the top prospects are really judging them on what they see at the camps and from watching the same film that everyone has access to.

As we know, there are certainly no brainers in south Florida. Football prospects who just take over at every event and in each game they play in. But there are also talented young men who are overlooked.

Combines are always nice to have – and as more and more continue to put up those lofty testing numbers – there are other emerging prospects who turn heads in drills and one-on-ones.

We have become a society that gravitates toward the 4 and 5 star players, not really giving these less exposed, but every bit as talented football players, a chance to show they belong.

Because we have such competitive youth programs and coaches who teach and follow their players all the way through high school, there are those who know just who the prospects that are getting overlooked.

Today, we take a look at some of the prospects we have watched at these event – and even though they may not be considered as the elite of elite – this group has the talent to one day make a huge impact on the football field.
