PLAYER: Henry Parrish Jr.

SCHOOL: Miami Christopher Columbus

CLASS: 2020

HEIGHT: 5-11

SCOUTING: One of the positions in south Florida that is often overlooked - from an overall depth and talent perspective is running back.

While we have produced so many quality prospects over the years, receiver and defensive back are the first places every recruiter and college coach check out on their visit.

But with the elite runners who have poured out of Miami-Dade and Broward through the years - the image has changed significantly, and this young man has slowly moved his way to the top of that impressive list.

If you’ve watched Henry play over the past two seasons, you have seen an impressive and versatile talent who can fit any system - and that is rare in this day of a specialized offense that sometimes eliminates even the most impressive football players.

When you see him perform, he reminds you of so many different backs, who not only lined it up in south Florida, but some of the greats who played this game over the years throughout the country.

What Henry brings to the table is a tremendous teammate who will do what it takes to help his team win. Run from the line of scrimmage, and he gets to the outside quickly - or uses his vision and skill to run tackle-to-tackle.

What is getting him so many looks is his approach to the game - and the way he can catch the ball out of the backfield, which is often something that separates the good from the great backs.

From the first time we watched him play two years ago, it was evident that when he matured and learned more and more, Henry Parrish Jr. would indeed be one of the nation’s best - and he certainly has done let anyone down as he heads toward his final season at the high school level.

Will be the driving force in getting the Explorers and first year head coach Dave Dunn back to the 8A state finals.
