High School Football Playoffs Taking Center Stage

There is something about playoff time that we all just cannot get enough of each year.

Maybe it’s the weather – even here in south Florida – that gets a bit cooler. It could be the fact that crowds get larger as the attention becomes more focused.

No matter what it’s all about, this special feeling that we all seem to get in November and December is something that continues to repeat itself every year.

It began last Sunday at 7:00 with the release of the Florida State High School Football Brackets, and frankly it has not stopped.

As coaches raced to get game tape on their opponents and the media started to produce features and promote each and every game, post season football is certainly in the air.

While the entire state – from Pensacola to Key West – will have that special feeling this week – out focus is on what happens in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

With defending state champions Chaminade-Madonna, Miami Northwestern and Cardinal Gibbons very much in play once again this season, the excitement is building.

The opening round is here and the football we often brag about is only going to get better and better as the stakes rise.
