OFF SEASON HUDDLE – Florida OL Commitment Gerald Mincey Is Turning Heads

PLAYER: Gerald Mincey

POSITION: OT

SCHOOL: Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons

CLASS: 2020

HEIGHT: 6-6

WEIGHT: 315

SCOUTING: The first time we had the pleasure of watching this quality talent was during his sophomore year at the high school level - and while there was plenty of room to learn and mature - you could see how talented this young man could be.

Watching him at a number of events over the past two seasons, this is someone who wanted to learn more and get better, and after helping lead the school to its first ever state football title last December in Orlando, Gerald served notice that he would definitely be a force.

It was in the off season, attending several camps and technique events that he started to emerge - and when he committed to attend the University of Florida earlier this week - many were impressed at the hard work and sacrifices made two years ago that have indeed paid off.

As he heads toward his final season at the high school level, the objective is once again to stay in the mix for a state title - and with solid players and coaches around him - that will remain in reach for a prospect who continues to do his part.

If you get a chance to watch him play this coming fall, you will be impressed as this future Gator has found a home.
