The Miami Dolphins pass rush has struggled to start the season coming up with just three sacks in their first two games.  Josh Allen had all the time in the world to pick Miami apart and Cam Newton was able to run all over the place.  Someone who didn’t have any problems getting to the quarterback, Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, stopped by The Joe Rose Show to talk about the struggles with the pass rush.

Taylor said, “It’s a huge trickle-down effect if you aren’t getting home upfront.   We saw this past week how comfortable Allen was in the pocket, it was eerie how comfortable and still his feet were just kind of standing there, there wasn’t much pressure or even the perception of pressure…if you don’t have that pressure or that perception of it you are stretching the backside of your defense so much.”

So how did things go for JT when he wasn’t getting enough pressure on QBs?  Taylor told this story, “You know how many times I was cussed out by Sam Madison and Pat Surtain for not getting to the quarterback quick enough, I was like it’s a three-step drop, and they were still mad and cussing me out for it.”

Who will step up to lead this Dolphins defense?  Hopefully, we will find out tomorrow night when they take the field in Jacksonville for a matchup with the Jaguars.
