The University of Miami will host UAB at Hard Rock Stadium on September 10.  That game will also be the debut for new offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, who is expected to bring an uptempo spread to Coral Gables.

There are certainly question marks for this new offense, including can the offensive line protect D’Eriq King?

“I’ve been really pleased," Lashlee said about the line. "Everyone in that room I think they are coming together well and the guys have bought into what we are doing. Those guys are really gelling and getting better each day.”

Lashlee also has a deep group of running backs led by Cam’Ron Harris, Robert Burns, Jaylan Knighton, and Don Chaney Jr.

“We believe in balance," Lashlee said about the running game. "We are going to play to our strengths and right now we have some really good running backs. Both scrimmages have served us well.”

As far as his new starting quarterback D’Eriq King?  “He’s been pretty steady," Lashlee said. "I think the best thing is he hasn’t turned the ball over in any of our scrimmages.”
