The Miami Dolphins held their first padded practice Monday in Davie with their opener around the corner.  The quarterbacks and offensive lines continue to be the top stories.

Armando Salguero joined The Joe Rose Show to discuss the opening padded practice.

“There was nothing he did that seemed obviously wrong, nothing he did that was unimpressive," Salguero summed up Tua Tagovailoa’s opening padded practice. "But it wasn’t like 'Oh my gosh he’s head and shoulders above the other guys.'  Maybe as we go forward there will be some separation, including by Tua, but we didn’t see that yesterday.”

Salguero also offered his opinion on who he thought would be the opening week starter for the Dolphins.

"Ryan Fitzpatrick knows the NFL, he knows the offense, he knows what the offensive coordinator is thinking, and his experience is so much greater that I don’t think the Dolphins would hand the reigns to a rookie or even to Rosen," Salguero said. "Later on in the year, when things play out and Tua gets his feet under him, I think he’s going to play. I don’t think this will be a redshirt year for Tua, but the season opener, I don’t see it.”

Miami has their second padded practice Tuesday as they prepare for their opener at New England on September 13.
