As we inch closer and closer to the start of the NFL season, there is an anticipation building in South Florida as fans wonder when we will get our first glimpse of Tua Tagovailoa.

Former Pro-Bowl linebacker Takeo Spikes joined The Joe Rose Show Thursday morning. And while it was tough for the Auburn alum to praise the Alabama rookie, his praise was quite high.

“I think we all think he has the ability to be a franchise quarterback," Spikes said. "I saw Tua play against my Auburn Tigers and I hated it. He came into that SEC Championship Game and dropped bombs. When you see that, you see his potential, I don’t see why he can’t be whatever he wants to be. He doesn’t have a ceiling.”

When will we see Tua in live game action?

With no preseason it will have to be in a regular-season game, but Ryan Fitzpatrick is slated as the starter and he will try and pick up where he left off last year.

The Dolphins open up on September 13 in New England.
