The Miami Dolphins will open up their season a week from Sunday in New England.  Head Coach Brian Flores joined The Joe Rose Show this morning and was immediately asked about the biggest off-season topic, the quarterback race.  Flores wasn’t ready to show his hand this morning as to who will start but he did say “Look, we know, we have a pretty good idea of who it’s going to be.”  Flo did also say that “Things can change quickly in this league.”  Judging from his comments it would certainly seem like Fitz will be getting the nod.

This has been an impossible off-season for NFL teams with no preseason and limited practice opportunities.  Flores said, “You can see how much time was missed and that’s the case for all these rookies and young guys and I told them this is unprecedented in that we are going to go out and play with the least practice and preparation probably in NFL history but the entire league is dealing with that.  As far as from day one to now I've seen a lot of improvement from Tua and all the rookies but we still have a long way to go.”

One thing that won’t change from last year, this team is going to try and win every game when they step out on the field.  As Coach Flo said, we’re always going to go out there and win ball games, that’s how I'm wired, that’s how Chris and this organization are wired, young old in shape out of shape we are going to go out there and try to win the game.”  Flores also said if needed he could even head up to the booth and grab Joe but everyone agreed Jason Taylor would be a better choice.

The Dolphins kick off on September 13th in New England.
